PAETEC Funding May Fall Short

The Rochester Rhinos hope to kick off construction early next year on the second phase of the team’s soccer stadium — but they may have to do so with less state aid than anticipated.

The Rhinos were confident they would get $12million in state aid this year to finish the $40 million PAETEC Park near Frontier Field, off Oak Street.

But the Rhinos may have to settle for less, probably $8 million, as they look to add luxury boxes, a permanent team store and locker rooms. The setback could mean the Rhinos would continue, at least for 2007, to use temporary trailers for offices and other facilities.
