Sunrisers Announce Second Open House

After an extremely successful November 26th Open House in Nyack NY, the Sunrisers are welcoming all to attend our second event, scheduled for Sunday December 10th 1-6PM at the New York Jets state-of-the-art practice facility at Hofstra University in Hempstead Long Island.

Due to the excitement and a heightened interest level on the part of the Long Island drum corps and band community we have added this second Open House to welcome new members.

Over the last several weeks we proudly announced our 2007 staff which includes familiar names from the NY/Long Island area such as:

* Lead Brass Instruction/Coordination JOE SITLER – Band Director Brentwood West Middle School;Masters in Music Education Aaron Copland School of Music; Associate Director Brentwood HS Marching Band Brentwood LI; Marched Sunrisers 1991-1992 and 1994-1998; Marched Cadets of Bergen County 1991;

* Brass Instruction – TOM MARTIN JR. – Baldwin School District 6th Grade Band Director ;Performing member of BLAST! 2001-2003; Professional trumpet player; Marched Crossmen 1998; Music Degree Crane School of Music SUNY Potsdam NY

* Ensemble Percussion Specialist/Technician – MIKE CARUSO – Band Director Hicksville HS, Hicksville,NY; Masters in Music Crane School of Music Potsdam NY ;, Assistant Instructor Reading Buccaneers 2001-2004; Marched Crossmen

* Snare Technican – DARICK KELLY – Walt Whitman High School Percussion Co-Director Huntington Station NY.; B.A.-Percussion Performance from SUNY Purchase College-Conservatory of Music, Purchase NY; Currently attending NYU M.A. Music Education; Member Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps Snare line 2004-2005; 2005 DCI Snare individual 2nd place
