Crossmen January Camp Update
January brought another successful camp for the Crossmen of San Antonio, Texas, as corps’ staff found themselves in an enviable numbers situation – many talented musicians and not enough spots to keep them all.
The Crossmen met for its second camp for the 2007 season last weekend with every section in the hornline having ample players seeking spots in the corps that will this year set a historic precedence from the Lone Star State. More than 90 brass players returned to the Crossmen camp, according to Director Mark Chambers, prompting staff to assess talent levels throughout the weekend. The talent was remarkable, with particular skill seen in the contra section, he said.
