Cavaliers February Camp Report

"You might want to put your coat on…" said one flight attendant to her plane full of passengers (one of whom was a Cavalier on their cellphone to me) as they stepped off the planes at O’Hare and Midway last Friday, February 2, for the coldest Cavalier Winter Camp since about 1995 (A DCI Classic Countdown winning year!)

Members of the 2007 Cavaliers, some in shorts, lite jackets and even flip-flops (Matt Hartwell) stepped into the arctic Chicago area for corps camp #2 this past weekend, not quite knowing what to expect. Having come off an early January camp where the snares, tenors and bass drums rehearsed outside for an afternoon and brass players casually walked between buildings at Triton College, while pit members walked back and forth to the equipment truck for their pit instruments and various noise-makers – this camp would be different, to say the least.
