Northern Star Drum & bugle Corps are pleased to announce the addition of Clay Wachholz to their teaching staff. Clay will be joining the corps as a consultant to the brass team and will be visiting the corps at 3 camps over the course of the year, starting with February’s camp this coming weekend.

As a baritone player he marched with the Thunderbolts (1979), Pioneer (1980-1984), and Madison Scouts (1985-1989). He went on to teach the Madison Scouts brass section from 1991 to 1997. In 1998 he spent three years with the Capital Sound only to return to the Madison Scouts full time in 2001. He is presently a teacher on the brass staff of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Wachholz has degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (BA) and the University of Michigan (MM). An active clinician, he has given clinics on brass performance in England, Japan, Brazil and Argentina. He is currently the Director of Bands at the International School of Brussels. Mr. Wachholz currently resides in Brussels, Belgium with his wife Raquel and two year old son Nicolas.

There are still several spots available at Northern Star and any people interested are strongly encouraged to contact the corps as soon as possible before the numbers are finalised for the year.
