Reading Buccaneers Third Annual Spring Preview

| |

The two-time defending Drum Corps Associates (“DCA”) world champion Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps today announced that the corps will present its Third Annual Spring Preview – a Drum & Bugle Corps Concert on Saturday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. at Twin Valley High School, Elverson, PA. All seats are general admission, and are $10 apiece.

The show, presented in conjunction with the Twin Valley Music Boosters, is quickly becoming an early season favorite among drum corps enthusiasts, and presents an early opportunity to see what some mainstays in the all-age and alumni corps community have in store for the 2007 season. Scheduled to appear are the Reading Buccaneers Brass Band (“RB3”), the Reading Buccaneers Alumni (Reading, PA), Yankee Rebels Alumni (Baltimore, MD), Steel City Ambassadors Alumni (Pittsburgh, PA), Music Express (Cinnaminson, NJ), New York Skyliners Alumni (New York, NY), Bridgemen Alumni (Bayonne, NJ), and the Reading Buccaneers (Reading, PA).

The always affable and stylish Fran Haring, a long-time staple in the DCA community, will emcee the show for his third consecutive year.

The concert will be the first opportunity for the public to hear the world champion Reading Buccaneers’ 2007 repertoire. 2007 marks the Buccaneers’ 50th anniversary. The corps will celebrate this milestone with an ambitious production, entitled Blue Era. The repertoire features New Era Dance, by Aaron Jay Kernis, The Promise of Living, from The Tender Land, by Aaron Copland, Danza Final: Malambo, from Estancia, by Alberto Ginastera, and Rhapsody in Blue, by George Gershwin.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by sending a check, payable to “The Spring Preview” to Spring Preview, 100 McCorkle Lane, Coatesville, PA 19320. Tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, contact Spring Preview Chairman Jerry Ware at 610-322-5336.
