Rochester Crusaders To Host Another Brass Clinic

Rochester’s own Two-Time American Legion National Champion and 33 Time DCA Finalist, Rochester Crusaders are proud to be sponsoring a Brass Clinic with the “The Doctor of Brass”, Mr. Tom Lizotte.

The clinic will be held Saturday, March 3rd from 1pm to 9pm and Sunday, March 4th from 9am to 3pm at Hope Hall School on Buffalo Rd. in Rochester, NY. Directions can be found by checking out our website at www.rochestercrusaders.org.

Tom has over 35 years experience in drum corps and public school education. In drum corps he has worked as a brass technician, caption head or brass/program consultant for many units, including Boston Crusaders, Garfield Cadets, 27th Lancers, North Star, Colts, Syracuse Brigadiers and Connecticut Hurricanes.

In public education he has taught the former New England champion Norwood, MA. marching band, concert band and jazz ensemble and the champion Biddeford, ME. band. He is currently director of bands at Cape Elizabeth, ME. High School, where he supervises a program of 150 students, including three concert bands, three jazz ensembles and three jazz combos.

He is former president of the Maine Band Directors Association and former executive board member of the Massachusetts Instrumental Conductors Association, New England Scholastic Band Directors Association and International Association of Jazz Educators, Massachusetts unit.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, with degrees in music education and master of music in wind conducting.

In 1994, Tom was elected to the Massachusetts Drum Corps Hall of Fame.

The Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps is a non-profit musical, visual and educational organization, that provides quality instruction that focuses on a musical and visual program that is both artistically and technically challenging. While being a competitive unit which travels all over the Northeast, we strive to bring the Rochester community closer to the unique activity of Drum and Bugle Corps which we perceive as an art form. The Crusaders also strive to keep the spirit of competition and the camaraderie throughout the Drum Corps community.
