Brigadiers Penalized In Workers’ Comp Case

After the state suspended the Syracuse Brigadiers’ gambling licenses in 2004, the drum and bugle corps shut down its bingo hall and stopped paying its staff.

But no one apparently told the state Workers’ Compensation Board that the Brigadiers, with no paid staff, no longer needed to carry workers’ compensation insurance.
