Capital Sound Tornado Relief Efforts

| |

In response to a call for support for the victims of the horrific tornado that destroyed Enterprise, Alabama, and leveled its high school, Capital Sound has launched an immediate drive to collect relief supplies, which will be taken directly to the town for distribution. Joining in their efforts will be both the Madison Scouts and Blue Stars drum & bugle corps.

“Seeing the destruction was horrifying,” said corps director, Marc Gofstein. “I didn’t know what we, as a corps, could do. However, I received an email from ProMark, one of our sponsors, saying Enterprise students and their families needed help. I put out a call for support and the response has been incredible. Both the Scouts and Blue Stars were eager to join, and we now have a combined effort to collect supplies. Our marching community is rallying around this effort.”

The three corps have begun collecting blankets, clothing (pants, shirts and shoes), non-perishable food items, and other essentials items, which will be loaded onto the corps’ equipment trucks and driven to Alabama.

In addition, Capital Sound has set up an account at Anchor Bank in Madison for monetary contributions to the effort. Donations can be made to:
