Madison Scouts March Camp Report

March Madness did not just apply to basketball this past weekend. The Madison Scouts held their 2007 March camp and for the 60 plus spectators in attendance Sunday afternoon, the MADISON SOUND is here to stay!

Weather was not an issue this camp as the members, staff and volunteers arrived at Madison Country Day School and prepared for a weekend of rehearsal and bonding. After check-in and a full Corps meeting, Friday evening was spent working on music in sectionals and ensemble practice. Saturday morning started with a breakfast of french toast in addition to cereal, fresh fruit, and the ever present peanut butter and jelly. Following a one hour stretch/fitness coordination session with the Corps’ fitness trainer, the morning was focused on warm-ups and marching basics. The afternoon segment was spent in sectionals working with the instructional staff and show designers on field show music, parade arrangements and concert tunes.
