April 29 Declared Joseph Kempf Day In PA

Sunday April 29th, 2007 will officially be Joseph Kempf Day in the state of Pennsylvania, as ordered by the Pennsylvania State Legislature.

Joe was a member of the Crossmen hornline in 2001 and the drum major of the corps in 2002. He was also a former member and drum major for the Reading Buccaneers DCA corps. Joe was tragically killed on December 19, 2004 while assisting victims in a multi-car accident on I-80 in central Pennsylvania. He was a member of Neffsville Fire Company since 1995, and achieved First Responder status. Joe was posthumously elected to the Crossmen Hall of Fame in 2005.
