‘drumcorps.fr’ Domain In Use By DCE Again

The domain name drumcorps.fr is in use again. Drum Corps Europe has owned the domain for three years, but as a result of a dispute between the company that had registered drumcorps.fr and the French internet authority, the domain, together with thousands of other domain names, was blocked for several years.

In July 2004, Drum Corps Europe registered the domain name www.drumcorps.fr to be used as a portal for French speaking visitors to the DCE website. In October of the same year, the company that had registered the domain name for DCE fell out with the AFNIC, the organisation that supervises the allocation of certain domain names, including .fr domains. This resulted in AFNIC blocking thousands of the company’s .fr domains, including drumcorps.fr.
