Skyliners 61st Anniversary Banquet Report

On March 25, 2007, the New York Skyliners Organizations held their 61st anniversary banquet at the Benda-Roehrich VFW Post #2867 in Garfield, New Jersey. The banquet was attended by members of all organizations within the New York Skyliners family. Represented were the Field corps, the Alumni corps, the Chorus and the Alumni Association.

The evening included a buffet dinner, music, and dancing. Emcee Vito Gironda opened the evening with the introduction of the charter Skyliner members who were in attendance, and we remembered those Skyliners who are no longer with us. Ray Priester, Director of the New York Skyliners Alumni Corps and Harry Eldridge, Sr., Executive Director of the New York Skyliners field corps addressed the attendees. Throughout the evening, names were called as winner of one of many door prizes, and a raffle for DCA Tickets and other prizes took place at the end of the night. Congratulations to Barbara Rogers for her hard work in planning and executing yet another successful Skyliner dinner dance. The rest of the evening was full of dancing, catching up and reminiscing. The attendees partied into the night in true Skyliner fashion. As the evening came to a close, all New York Skyliners joined in an emotional singing of "Garbarina", the corps song.
