Nothing says "Hayward" like the Musky Festival. It’s a home-grown celebration of fishing and the unique and unbridled culture of the Northwoods, with 58 years of tradition behind it.

Not every Musky Fest icon, however, is homegrown. At Sunday’s Musky Fest parade, spectators will watch Hayward-area mainstays march down Main, accompanied by groups and floats and classic cars from other areas as well, eager for a chance to strut their stuff in front of a large and eager audience.

Hailing from Bessemer, Mich., Marty’s Goldenaires have become a Musky Fest icon, entertaining young and old with their energetic and eclectic collection of marching band standards, with a few twists thrown in, just for fun. As Drum Major Rich Brown leads the group with his unique brand of animated and contagious enthusiasm, spectators can’t resist becoming a part of the fun.
