DCI Masters Of The Summer Music Games Report

Drum Corps International’s top eight drum corps took the field at Middle Tennessee State University’s Floyd Stadium Friday, July 13, for the annual Masters of the Summer Music Games major event. One of the very first and only a handful of times that all of these corps will see each other head-to-head before making their way to the West Coast over the next few weeks, corps were looking for one last chance to establish themselves before moving down the road.

“This is a huge show,” said the Blue Devils’ color guard captain Janelle Yuen. “Because of its scope, a lot of people were calling this show ‘DCI [World Championships] in July.’ Everyone is here up against each for the first time together and it’s pretty intense knowing all eight top competitors are here.”
