In The News: Blue Stars Shine At Their Own Show
It seemed as though the stars were aligned just right Saturday night for the La Crosse Blue Stars’ homecoming.
The Blue Stars won their second consecutive Division I competition by winning their home show, River City Rhapsody, at Veterans Memorial Field. The La Crosse corps rolled into the area at 2 a.m. Saturday after easily beating the Madison Scouts Friday for a Division I championship at Drums on Parade in Madison — the first time they beat the Scouts in 34 years.
“The win against the Madison Scouts is a big confidence booster for the corps,” said Brad Furlano, the Blue Stars’ executive director. I think it’s another step in the rebirth and growth, everything they’ve accomplished as a drum corps.”
