There are plenty of reasons why Drum Corps International has been described as “marching band on steroids.” The marching band equivalent to the NFL or NBA, the group brings together the best young musicians in the country for awesome displays of musicianship and athleticism that are worthy of the DCI slogan: “Marching Music’s Major League.”

On Tuesday, DCI will storm West Virginia for “Drums Across the Tri-State,” hosted locally by Kerr’s Music World and V-100 in cooperation with the DCI’s Phantom Regiment corps. The diverse show will feature performances that include jazz, classical and classic pop selections, all of which are infused with unique and abstract concepts.

Competing corps include host Phantom Regiment, the 2006 World Championship silver medalist; the 2006 World Champion Cavaliers and the 2006 World Championship bronze medalist Blue Devils. “Drums Across the Tri-State” will be the first time this season that the three groups will compete head to head.
