In The News: Drum Corps To Camp Out At Salem Schools

Beginning at noon today, many Salem schools will begin finding their halls filled to the brim.

However, it’s not anxious students eagerly awaiting the first day back to school. No, it’s the many members of five drum and bugle corps that will be taking the city—and its schools— by storm.

The five drum and bugle corps will be arriving today into tomorrow for the Salem Champions of Sound event. The program, which features groups from various parts of the country, will be pitted against each other in the Drum Corps Associates competition. Each member of each corps will be carefully judged for their musical performance and precision marching by eight judges.
