In The News: Musical Games, Won By Nashua, A Crowd Pleaser

Last night’s Fiesta De Musica at Memorial High School could easily have been subtitled "Bodies in Motion," given the lively performances by seven regional drum and bugle corps regimens.

Set by set, uniformed marimba players dashed from keyboard to cymbal to gong as flag twirlers twirled on the field, dodging drummers and horn blowers, all stepping in tightly choreographed formation.

The local favorites, the Muchachos, performed but did not compete. But corps director Al Gagne said bringing back the thrill of the Muchachos’ heyday is what the summer music games is all about.
