In The News: On The Road Again

The Madison Scouts are in Minnesota this weekend for shows in Mankato and Stillwater. Then the touring drum and bugle corps from Madison, Wis., will hit the road again for another performance in a new town.

To get there, the corps’ 131 members and about 40 instructors and support staff will use four tour buses, two semitrailer trucks (one for equipment, the other for food) and a passenger vehicle pulling an 18-foot trailer for souvenir sales.

In the coming weeks, the Scouts — about a dozen of whom hail from Minnesota — will head east, south and then west toward their ultimate destination: the Drum Corps International World Championships at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., on Aug. 11.
