New Drum & Bugle Corps For Coventry

Spirit of Coventry is a NEW Drum & Bugle Corps based in the Wyken area of Coventry . Spirit is a non-profit making youth marching band with a mixed sex membership, recruiting from anyone aged 7+. The Corps offer complete tuition in music theory, practical playing, marching as well as supplying instruments and uniform all for a nominal weekly subscription of £1.50. The Corps plan to do UK Competitions in 2008 as well as Carnivals, Fetes, Parades and Concerts. Instruments available range from drums to trumpet, Mellophone, Baritone, Contra Bass and Xylophone, Marimba and Vibrophone.

Tuition is given by adults with numerous years of experience in marching bands. Rehearsals initially will be Wednesday Evenings 7pm ‘til 9.15pm and from October, Sundays 10am ‘til 2pm.
