DCE Presents 2007 European Championships Logo

After ‘The Castle’ and the Erasmus Bridge, another Rotterdam symbol now forms the basis of the DCE Championships. The artist Peter Franken has designed a European Championships logo for Drum Corps Europe that focuses on the well-known cube houses.

"After the theme of sport (the historical Sparta Stadium in 2005) and bridges and water (Erasmus Bridge in 2006), I have chosen architecture as the third theme in the ‘Rotterdam’ series", explains Peter Franken. "I have always chosen a theme that typifies the city. Rotterdam is full of examples of modern architecture, but I had to choose something that is easily recognized as being from Rotterdam and which is still recognizable after being stylized."
