In The News: Rose Bowl Will Thunder With Marching Music
While noted for the annual New Year’s Day football game, next week Pasadena’s Rose Bowl will host another kind of championship — the Drum Corps International World Championships.
Think of it as a sort of Super Bowl for marching music.
Top teams — or corps — will participate in the tournament starting Thursday, demonstrating their music, marching and visual presentation. Instruments are limited to percussion and brass. Division I corps can have up to 135 members performing on the field.
