In The News: Spartans Drum Up Another Victory

The Nashua-based Spartans cemented their dynasty this weekend with a fifth gold medal at the Drum Corps International World Championships in Pasadena, Calif.

The Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps won their fifth Division II gold medal at the championships, besting another east coast team, the Jersey Shore, in the finals Saturday.

“We’re thrilled, absolutely thrilled,” Peter LaFlamme, the director of the Spartans, said in a telephone interview from California after the victory. “The kids worked so, so hard.”
