Capital Sound Announces 2008 Tour Director
As a part of their continued growth, Capital Sound is pleased to announce the appointment of Erik Jaeckel as tour director for the 2008 season. Erik has been affiliated with the corps since its inception in 1995 as a marching member, volunteer and, this past season, a member of the visual staff.
“Erik is a perfect choice for this job,” said Executive Director, Marc Gofstein. “Over this past summer, he constantly demonstrated the skills and qualities that make a great tour director. His resourcefulness helped us on several occasions, and his big-picture thinking is exactly the reason he was chosen for the job.”
“I’m very excited about becoming Capital Sound’s tour director,” added Jaeckel. “It’s a great opportunity to further help the corps I started with, and to help them get successfully down the road. More importantly, it’s a chance to give back to the activity that gave me so much. I’m looking forward to a great year!”
In addition to his duties coordinating the 2008 tour, Jaeckel will also assist with recruiting and pre-camp preparations. His history with the corps, along with his involvement with the high school marching scene in Southern Wisconsin, has already produced several recruitment events throughout the Madison area.
Founded in 1995, Capital Sound is a non-profit youth organization dedicate to the betterment and enrichment of the youth of Madison and the State of Wisconsin through life-skill training, music education and performance.
