Carolina Crown Releases 2007 Field Studio Recording Project

How many times have we heard…“if only a corps would studio record the week of finals”…well Carolina Crown has done just that with a little twist? The twist is a secluded rehearsal field (our true Drum Corps Studio) somewhere in sunny California, early in the morning with the corps standing in the “Arc” just three days before the final performance of the year.

In addition, not only was the Full Ensemble recorded in surround sound, the session also included an individual take of Brass only, Percussion only and the Drumline recording major effects of the show. At that time the sectional recordings were only done for the purpose of archiving the development of the corps. Well…after hearing the final tracks of each recording, it was decided to share these special recordings with all the fans of drum corps in hopes of finally giving “that studio recording we all talked about” and maybe just a little more.
