Anyone considering membership in The Kilties Drum & Bugle Corps should make plans to attend The 2008 Kilties Kick-off weekend on December 1st and 2nd being held at Gilmore Middle School, 2440 Northwestern Avenue, Racine, WI.

Potential and current members of The Kilties will begin the weekend at Noon on Saturday, December 1st. Activities will run through 4 p.m. That evening, a banquet will be held at South Hills Country Club to welcome new members and congratulate current members on the 2007 season. The banquet is not a required part of the attendance for the weekend. The weekend session will conclude on Sunday with activities planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The two-day event will include a general informational session, sectional informational sessions, rehearsal, issuing of equipment as appropriate, and informal evaluation/assessment of new members to help determine how best to utilize their skills/talents within the corps, along with a chance to meet the 2008 staff and hear the 2008 music and visual concepts.

The winter rehearsal schedule for the Kilties has been established. Rehearsal camps will take place on the last full weekend of each month (January – May) with sessions running from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Field percussion members will have one additional camp on January 5th and 6th to establish instrumentation responsibilities.
