Velvet Knights Add Willett, Teubener To Staff

VK Youth Arts Organization, and the Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps are pleased to announce the addition of Thom Willett as the Upper Brass Tech, and Steve Teubner Jr. as our Corps Athletic Trainer, to our staff for the 2008 season.

Thom Willett comes to us with an extensive background and teaching experience. With a music degree from Pierce College and having attended CSU Northridge, he is presently the Assistant Director for the Instrumental Music department at Torrance High School, as well as the Director of the Jazz Band.

He is presently the Visual Caption Head for SoCal Dream. He has taught at various other high schools, such as Marshall Fundamental, Simi Valley, Kennedy, Venice, just to name a few. His present affiliations include DCI Pacific Advisory Board.

Steve Teubner Jr. A.T.C. – Athletic Trainer – in his first year with the Velvet Knights, Steve joins the staff in the capacity of Corps Athletic Trainer. Before joining VK, Steve spent the past two years as head athletic trainer at Valencia High School in Placentia, CA.

A member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Steve is a Certified Athletic Trainer, as recognized by the NATA Board of Certification. He will help oversee the medical aspects of the corps throughout the season providing first aid care, as well as preventative and some rehabilitative care of its members.

Steve is a graduate of California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, as well as a graduate of the CSUF Athletic Training Education Program. He has a vast experience with athletes of all ages as well as various levels from high school to the professional ranks.

Both of these gentlemen just come to enhance our staff for the 2008 season.
