In The News: Canton Symphony Orchestra Concert To Feature Bluecoats Members

Two different holiday concerts will be presented by the Canton Symphony Orchestra to celebrate the magic of the season.

The Holiday Brass concert on Saturday, December 8, 2007 in Umstattd Hall at 8:00 p.m. will feature the Orchestra, the Canton Symphony Chorus, 30 members of the Bluecoats and the McKinley High School Choir. This concert offers traditional holiday favorites, sure to inspire every listener. The Bluecoats, a vibrant drum and bugle corps that performs across the nation with Drum Corps International (DCI), has both male and female members ranging in ages from 15 to 22. They have been named one of the DCI’s elite “Top 12” since 1987.

The Holiday Brass Concert will include “Winter Wonderland,” music from “The Nutcracker,” Handel’s beautiful “Hallelujah Chorus” from the Messiah, selections by the Canton Symphony Chorus and the Bluecoats and the voices of the McKinley High School Choir. Audience members will be given the chance to sing along with this spectacular line-up.
