2008 DCUK “Theme Tune” – Ave Maria

Following the success of last years "Theme Tune", Perfect Day, for the massed brass lines of competing Corps, DCUK are pleased to advised that Eoin O’Keefe has kindly agreed to return and direct the 2008 tune – Ave Maria.

In announcing the piece, Eoin commented: "I look forward to hearing the brass lines of all Corps together again in 2008, this time to play Ave Maria. The things that seemed important to me in choosing a piece, were that it should be easy to play and learn, as well as being recognisable without being associated to a particular corps in the UK or elsewhere. I believe this piece fits these criteria."

The score and a midi file have been given to all Corps and is also available to download from the DCUK website download area at http://www.dcuk.org.uk/downloads/downloads.html.

Eoin added: "It was great to see 100+ brass arced up at Finals last year, and hopefully with the music available earlier this season, this will result in a full-sized line at the first show."

All Corps are encouraged to spend a little bit of time at their rehearsals over the coming months to learn the piece ready for the first show on Sunday 8th June.
