Cadets Hall Of Fame Nominations Now Being Accepted

| |

Nominations are being taken for the Class of 2008 Cadets Hall of Fame.

The Cadets Hall of Fame Committee has begun taking letters of nomination for candidates for this year’s inductees. They will be accepted until April 15th, according to Committee Chairman Eric Santo.

Any person may nominate a candidate for the Hall of Fame. Nominees must have been an active member of the corps or part of the Cadets instructional staff and have made a substantial and positive contribution to the corps and the activity. According to the Hall of Fame bylaws, a nominee’s contribution to society at large may be considered in addition to Cadets and drum corps related qualifications.

Letters of nomination must have one, and can have up to four, letters of support from other individuals.

Letters of nomination should be sent to Christen Juel, YEA! Coordinator for the Cadets Hall of Fame by email at christen [at] yea [dot] org, or by mail to: Cadets Hall of Fame, Youth Education in the Arts, 601 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, Pa. 18101.

Following the April 15th cut-off, the Hall of Fame Committee will review the nominations and select an even number of no more than 10 qualified nominees for inclusion in the official ballot provided to the Electors (registered members of the Cadets Alumni Association.)

Electors will review the ballots and cast their votes online. Announcement of the inductees of the 2008 Class will be made at the Cadets Come Home Celebration on June 15th at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, Pa. The induction ceremony will be held on July 5th during the YEA!-sponsored Music In Motion drum corps show in Piscataway, N.J.

The Cadets Hall of Fame began with the Class of 1984 induction of honorees and is now the highest honor for 24 individuals who have left a mark in the Cadets legacy. The newly formed Committee is comprised of five members, all alumni of the Cadets.
