OLPH Ridgemen 104th Anniversary Reunion

| |

This year marks the 104th Anniversary of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ridgemen Drum and Bugle Corps and to celebrate this event, the Ridgemen Alumni is holding a reunion party on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the OLPH Notre Dame Hall located on 60th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues in Brooklyn, New York. The theme of this year’s anniversary party is “Still Crazy After All These Years!”

The OLPH Ridgemen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps is marching in the annual Bay Ridge Norwegian Day parade on May 18, and the reunion festivities will commence immediately upon completion of their parade march. The Ridgemen invite all former members, friends and supporters along with the OLPH Cadets and OLPH Fife and Drum Alumni to join them and march in the Norwegian Day Parade and then to the party. Entertainment at the reunion party will include a performance by OLPH Ridgemen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps and the admittance fee / donation will provide guests with food, beer, wine and soft drinks.

All former members are encouraged to once again “answer the call” and play with the corps on May 18 even if it is only for “one more time”. Sheet music and midi files for the Ridgemen song book can be obtained from the Ridgemen website www.ridgemen.com. Ridgemen practices are held at the Staten Island Cromwell Center on Sunday afternoons and the practice schedule as well as directions to the Cromwell Center can also be found on the Ridgemen website. You do not need to own a drum or horn – if you have the desire to march and play for one more parade and have a little fun, the equipment and music instruction will be provided. There is no cost to you aside from your time. If for some reason you cannot play, the color guard can always use your help to help fill out the line.

For additional details of the reunion as well as practices and other Ridgemen events check the Ridgemen website www.ridgemen.com in the “Updates section”. Email contact information for fellow Ridgemen Alumni as well as members of the Ridgemen Alumni Committee can also be found on the Ridgemen website. Please send contact information or direct your questions to Joan Filosa at jfilosa [at] bear [dot] com

If you are still crazy after all these years, come join us at the reunion and if you are not, well come and join us anyway! It will be great to see you again!
