“Rock The Sound” To Benefit Capital Sound

| |

For the first time, several Madison area rock bands are coming together to present a benefit concert for Capital Sound Drum & Bugle Corps. “Rock the Sound,” taking place Saturday, April 19, 2008, starting at 8:00pm at the Dry Bean in Fitchburg, will showcase five local groups all rocking to support Madison’s Open Class drum corps.

Organized by corps parents Greg and Jodi Martin, the concert will be headlined by the popular Midwest group, Muzzy Luctin. Other participating bands include the classic rock band Section 8, Apparatus, Sand, and Cudasigh. All are local, Madison area groups, and all have strong reputations for great music.

“This is going to be a great night of music,” said corps director, Marc Gofstein. “I can’t believe these groups are so excited to lend their music and talent to help our corps. It really shows how tight the Madison area arts scene is, and how dedicated these musicians are to supporting the next generation of performers.”

To guarantee every dollar raised goes to the corps, several area businesses and companies have signed on as sponsors of the event, including WJJO-94.1fm, Maximum Ink, Bernatello’s, Roma and Bellatoria Pizza, the Dry Bean, Ps Creative Web Design, Megatone Recording Studios, Ameriprint Apparel, Scott Alt, Rain Tite Roofing and Remodeling, Main TV and Appliance, and Tangles Hair and Extension Salon.

Tickets for the event are $7.00 and can be purchased at the door. In addition, there will be raffle & door prizes, concert t-shirts, band cd’s and other great items for sale. More information about this event, and Capital Sound’s 2008 season, can be found at www.capsound.org.
