2008 Blue Stars Guard Audition Information
The 2008 Blue Stars Colorguard will be having an open audition for anyone interested in performing in the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps color guard this summer. We will also allow those students interested in seeing what a DCI World Drum Corps rehearsal and audition process is like. Feel free to come and learn and be challenged by some of the best designers and technicians in our activity.

Michael Shapiro joins the Blue Stars as Color Guard Caption Head for 2008. Michael began his marching career with the Spirit of Atlanta and also performed with the Madison Scouts, and Alliance of Miami. He went on to teach and write for Alliance, as well as many other drum corps and winter guard ensembles. Shapiro’s DCI and WGI teaching experience is extensive, and includes Carolina Crown, The Cavaliers, Crossmen, Carroll High School, The Company, Crown Guard, Mayflower (UK), and many other talented organizations.
Michael received his undergraduate education from the University of Miami, and currently resides in Palm Springs, CA where he is a fine arts educator at Indio HS. He also currently directs the Diamond Bar HS Colorguard and is the founder and director of the Corona winter guards. He is very excited to begin an exciting new chapter at the Blue Stars.
