In The News: Concord Drum Corps Marches Into Theaters

The best way to see a performance by Concord’s Blue Devils drum and bugle corps is in person as part of a crowd wired to the beat of the drums and dazzled by the performers’ high-energy art.

But a close second to the live show, says Blue Devils Executive Director David Gibbs, is seeing that performance on the big screen, immersed in the technology of surround sound and having the birds-eye benefits that only crafty camera work can offer.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Bay Area moviegoers will get the chance during a one-night-only Drum Corps International movie theater event dubbed "The Countdown."
