In The News: Uncompleted Stadium Forces Drum Corps Competition To Move

The Drum Corps International World Championships is moving this summer’s competition to Indiana University’s Memorial Stadium because the new Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis won’t be completed in time.

About 40 drum and bugle corps from around the world will participate in the 3-day event, Aug. 7-9. The competition is expected to draw about 35,000 people. The competitors range in age from 14 to 22.

Drum Corps International is headquartered in Indianapolis and plans to hold future events at Lucas Oil Stadium.
