Quantum Percussion Debuting At WGI Championships

| |

The Winter Guard International 2008 World Championships will play host to three dynamic competitors playing on the new Quantum drums from Mapex. Jenison Winter Drumline of Jenison, Michigan and the Irondale Marching Knights Winter Guard of New Brighton, MN will perform exclusively on drums from Mapex Quantum. The Constitution of Raleigh, North Carolina, will feature the Quantum models from both Mapex drums and Majestic percussion.

“We’re excited to have this caliber of drumlines carrying the Mapex Quantum drums from inception,” said Chris Hankes, Percussion Product Manager for Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc., distributor of the Mapex and Majestic Quantum line. “They’ve already provided great feedback on the drums and we look forward to some great performances at finals.”

The Irondale High School drumline, who helped to test Mapex Quantum prototype models last year, won the recent Scholastic Open in the Northstar Circuit in Eagan, MN on April 5th. The Constitution premiered the drums and Majestic Quantum field models at the Spartanburg WGI Regional competition on March 8th, in Roebuck, South Carolina.

Mapex will also take the field during the Drum Corps International competitions this summer. The Academy, Teal Sound, and Jersey Surf will march with Quantum drums, percussion and brass.
