2008 Yamato Mother’s Day Picnic/DCI Evaluation Report

On Sunday, May 11th, Yamato hosted its very first gathering of its members and their families at their Mother’s Day Picnic. Nearly 90 family plus corps members attended an afternoon of great food and entainment to honor their mothers and grand mothers who do so much. May 11th was also the organization’s evaluation day by Drum Corps International, represented by Mr. Tom Hope, to be reinstated as a member of DCI for the 2008 season.

The morning began with a 3 hour rehearsal for the corps to review the opener drill which much of it was put on the field in less than three 4-hour rehearsal blocks starting the previous weekend. Inspite of missing several members due to Prom on Saturday and suffering from lack of sleep, the kids did an amazing job!
