In The News: Shepard Senior Writes, Teaches Percussion Music
Shepard High School has its own resident composer of percussion music.
Senior Derrick Shannon writes and arranges the percussion music for marching band students at Shepard and then teaches them how to play it.
"Knowing the standards of the Shepard band director, that’s remarkable," said Community High School District 218 spokesman Bob McParland.
