Skyliners Street Corps Hits The Streets

| |

The New York Skyliners Street Corps is hitting the streets for two local parades on the 4th of July – Florham Park and Ridgewood, New Jersey. The inaugural rehearsal of the Street Corps took place on Saturday, May 31st at the American Legion Post #27 in Dover, New Jersey, and was a great success.

The parade tunes, "Iko Iko" and "America" are designed to entertain and keep the crowd on their feet, wanting more. Anyone who wants to help us make a big and joyful sound, a few openings in the brass and drumline exist.

The next rehearsals are scheduled:

June 22nd, 12:00 – 5:00 P.M. Dover American Legion Post #27

June 29th, 12:00 – 5:00 P.M. Dover American Legion Post #27

For additional information, and parade times and places, view the New York Skyliners Street Corps Schedule at http://www.nyskyliners.org/schedule.htm.

In addition to earning some money for new equipment, the New York Skyliners see this as a positive first step in getting us back on the competition field in 2009. Thank you again for any support you can give us.

If you are interested in participating with the New York Skyliners field corps, or would like to help the corps in any way, please contact Angel Munoz at director [at] nyskyliners [dot] org.
