In The News: Marching To The Beat

In 1990, Harry and Elaine Glinn, managers of the Corps, wanted to retire, so they called on all their former students who had marched together in the late 1970s and early 1980s for help. Fourteen alumni agreed to participate, and Donna Monte volunteered her time to take over as director.

“Harry and Elaine taught us how to run the drum Corps, fundraise, run Bingo, maintain trucks, and how to move the kids from state to state,” she said. “You’re so committed to this activity and your friends, and when you’re 15 or 16 years old, it’s a great experience. It taught me a lot of life lessons.”
