In The News: Blue Stars Grow Into World Class Corps
It’s not widely known the La Crosse Blue Stars were on the verge of folding as a drum and bugle corps for the second time after the 2003 season.
The Blue Stars were wiped out financially and their old vehicles were in need of repair. It was the board of directors and alumni who didn’t want to disband the corps that had been formed in 1964.
In 2006, the Blue Stars jumped from a medium-sized corps to world class. The corps has finished 14th the first two years back in world class.
