In The News: Conemaugh Township Grad Serves His Country With A Musical Sound

Staff Sgt. Brad Swank has played his lungs out for the king of Norway, the queen of England, two U.S. presidents and the sultan of Oman, but he got his start performing at Conemaugh Township Area High School.

The Thomas Mills native has been a contrabass bugler of “The Commandant’s Own,” United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps for more than nine years.

“It’s definitely been my passion,” he said. “I wanted to do something I enjoy. I don’t view it as my job.”
