In The News: Drum Corps Champs March To Local Beat

A drum roll, a trumpet blast and three months of drills pushed young Sioux Falls musicians to the top of the world.

They are members of the Phantom Regiment unit that took first place Aug. 9 in the Drum Corps International championships in Indiana. The event is the gold standard in drum and bugle work, with five dozen teams from Japan, Denmark and points between competing in a musical version of the Summer Olympics.
