How does it feel to win a Drum Corps International World Championship?

David Gibbs knows. His Concord (Calif.) Blue Devils have won 12 of them in the elite World Class division, half of those since he became the corps’ director in 1991.

Gibbs was a soprano bugler for the Blue Devils from 1974 through 1977, with the corps winning its first two world championships in his final two years as a player. And he’s been with the corps in one capacity or another for each of its championship years, including last year.
