In The News: Rochester’s Empire Statesmen Seek Drum Corps Title In 25th Anniversary Season

Rochester’s own Empire Statesmen Drum Corps hopes to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a championship win tonight.

The corps, founded in 1983, has about 130 members. It was seeded second in a field of 24 going into this year’s Drum Corps Associates World Championships, hosted this weekend at PAETEC Park.

Saturday night, the Statesmen took second place in the preliminary round. Tonight they advance to the finals.
