New Venue For 2008 British Drum Corps Championships

Due to recent uncertainty with the advertised venue for the 2008 British Drum Corps Championships on Saturday 20th September the DCUK Board have made the decision to move the event to a new stadium.

Whilst there are a number of venues that could have used the Board did not want to compromise the quality of venue for our showcase event and therefore are now extremely pleased to advise that they have secured The Marston‘s Arena, Wincham Avenue, Northwich, Cheshire which is the home ground of Manchester United Reserves and Northwich Victoria FC.

The stadium was opened in 2005 and has a main stand which seats approx 1,100 people and is very similar in layout to the original venue at Burton Albion i.e. the pitch is very close the stand. The Board have been very conscience in their search that, with the relatively small number of Corps currently in membership of DCUK, they wanted to find a venue that would give their members the optimum performance arena and Marston’s Arena definitely fits the bill.

The stadium is not close to housing and offers excellent facilities for both the performing members and spectators and details of ticket sales will be released very shortly.

Whilst the change is unfortunate, with only a few week to go before the event, the DCUK Board were committed to ensuring the climax to the 2008 British Drum Corps season was at venue at which we could all be proud.
