2009 British Drum Corps Championships Will Be Open To All

| |

The 2009 British Drum Corps Championships is scheduled to take place on Saturday 19th September at Marston’s Arena in Northwich, Cheshire and this year if the British Drum Corps Championships is the only DCUK event a Corps can commit to then they are welcome to enter and take a full competitive part in the day.

DCUK fully understand the financial and logistical constraints the modern day drum corps operate within and realise that taking part in other events throughout the season can be difficult as well as costly. DCUK is also committed to continue to provide a platform for Drum Corps to compete against Drum Corps, so for 2009 our premier event is ‘open to all’ and does not mean a drum corps will have to compete exclusively on one circuit each season.

In order to assist financially, DCUK will operate a ‘pay as you play’ system throughout the year, if a Corps only competes at the British Championships then that is the only competition they will pay to enter.

DCUK continues to work in partnership with other marching arts organisations, e.g. DCE, BYBA, DCN, IMBA, however, DCUK is a ‘competitive’ circuit exclusively designed for Drum Corps and we hope that as many Corps as possible will want to attend the 30th British Drum Corps Championships. By removing as many barriers as possible we hope this will open up the possibility to all.

For Corps to find out more and ask any questions then they should email DCUK at admin [at] dcuk [dot] org [dot] uk
