Troopers director Fred Morris is pleased to announce the drum majors for the 2009 Troopers. Mr. Corey Moore and Ms. Beth Haley will share the drum major duties for the Troopers this upcoming season.

Beth Haley is in her first year as a student at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She is currently double majoring in Biology (Pre-med) and Music (Composition). Prior to her acceptance to UNC, Beth attended Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, NC, where her primary instrument was the alto saxophone. During high school, she was invited to play with the Pfeiffer University Wind Ensemble, under Mr. Ed Kiefer.

She also participated in numerous honor bands including all-district, all-county, Collision Percussion Ensemble, and the Pfeiffer University Jazz Band. She marched for four years at Mount Pleasant, was an active part of the leadership for three years, and graduated with music honors.   Beth has marched with the Troopers for two seasons and will age out in 2011. She joined the Troopers late in the 2007 season playing baritone. In 2008, she returned as a member of the euphonium section.

Corey Moore is a two year veteran of the Troopers playing mellophone in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. He will age out in 2010.

"I am very excited about being a drum major for the Troopers. I think this corps has many great things to come this season. I am looking forward to taking the intensity of this corps to a new level and help guide the corps to the coveted top twelve at DCI", he states.
