BYBA Expands To Provide 10 Contests In 2009
The BYBA Performance Portfolio is pleased to announce our 2009 summer season, which includes a number of minor changes to existing contests, plus sanction of two new contests taking our total to 10!
With the support of our contest committees across the country, we believe we have created choice in our calendar, and opportunities for units to consider doing additional contests to their normal plan, including two “double headers” weekends, which might provide cost-effective transport and social options.
Chair of Performance, Paul Cartwright said “The calendar we are announcing today, puts BYBA in an extremely strong position, and it’s a long time since we have been able to offer this many contests to our expanding membership. I’m also pleased to announce sanction of two new contests, one in Nottingham and one in Warrington, where BYBA will return to venues we’ve previously used (Harvey Hadden Stadium & “Vicky Park”) in areas of the country which have a strong heritage in marching music.
Spotlight on Youth Director, Adam Dudley said, “Trinity dedicates it’s time, efforts, and experience to developing and bringing new and exciting experiences to young people. Spotlight on Youth gives us a canvas to allow the stage to be set for everyone to create experiences to remember forever”
Wired for Sound Director, Bev Chesworth said, “Music like wire is part of Warrington’s history. Cheshire Cadets are bringing Warrington’s musical history back to life”.
Paul Cartwright went onto say, “This is an extremely exciting time for BYBA, and what better way to celebrate BYBA’s 35th Anniversary than with an expanding contest calendar, offering more opportunities for competition and friendship”.
